Parkland Centers of Excellence
Many of Parkland’s specialty areas have garnered
national praise for excellence in care, research and technological innovation.
Arrhythmia
Management Center
Patients with heart rhythm disturbances are evaluated using both non-invasive
techniques (EKG monitoring, tilt-table evaluation) and invasive evaluation
with electro-physicology study. Treatment options range from drug therapy
to curative ablation of the tissue responsible for the abnormal rhythm.
Permanent pacemakers are implanted for slow heart rhythms and implantable
cardioverter-defribrillators (ICDs) are implanted for the management
of dangerously fast rhythm disturbances. Patients are followed longitudinally
in clinic and by telephone transmission of the EKG.

burn units in the nation. The intensive care unit and the acute care
unit together treat more than 500 burn patients annually. It is a full-service
burn center that serves North Texas and surrounding states.
