Mission Statement
Our mission is to make quality healthcare available to all Dallas County residents. As the primary teaching hospital of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, we cooperate in education and clinical training programs, participate in clinical and basic research knowledge and improve patient care, as well as provide community service through health-related programs.
Vision Statement
Parkland Health & Hospital System strives to be a community-responsive, servant leader dedicated to providing high quality, low cost services that improve health, well being and quality of life for persons and communities entrusted to our care.
House Standards
Welcome People – By making each employee, visitor or patient at Parkland feel welcomed, we are establishing a positive first impression. Positive first impressions build bonds of trust, which will allow us to create “raving fans.”
Put Patient Safety First – Our employees, patients and their loved ones trust that while they are at Parkland, their safety is our first concern. With all the staff working together to look out for the well being of each other, our patients and guests, we can truly have a community of safety.
Be Culturally Competent – Recognize that there are many cultural differences among our employees, patients and guests. These differences can include ethnicity, age, religion, race, physical and others.
Protect Privacy and Confidentiality – Our employees, patients and their loved ones have expectations that we respect their need for privacy and confidentiality. We also respect and comply with the laws and guidelines that apply to information about our patients.
Be a Telephone Pro – Many patients and their families will contact Parkland by telephone. Each contact we receive, whether in person or by telephone, needs to establish a bond of trust and an interest in helping those who need our help.
Keep It Clean – Our employees, patients and guests expect their healthcare facility to always be clean and sanitary. In a facility the size of Parkland, it takes everyone’s help to keep it that way.
Step In and Help – Going the extra mile demonstrates to our employees, patients and guests that we see beyond our job descriptions and take pride in our jobs, and that their needs are our priority.
